Loving life in my season of 5.0
Hello, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and started oil painting at age 13. My childhood was filled with love of horses and creating art. I turned my creativity into a career working as a graphic artist for over twenty-five years. Then at age 50, I returned back to my love of drawing and painting to pursue my passion as a fine artist. I am blessed to be thriving in God’s Kingdom as a full-time artist, facilitator and instructor and I am flourishing in this new season of my life called 5.0.
I have lived with the ups and downs of depression and anxiety for most of my life. I know first-hand the impact mental health has on our daily lives, and more importantly, the role that self-care plays in our overall well-being. I discovered that making art a priority gave me permission to feel safe, tap into my spirituality and gave me perspective. Expressive art has opened doors to my soul. It has allowed me to grow closer to the Lord, the Great Creator himself, heal after grief and trauma and be mindful in the present. Being an artist allows me to focus on wellness, self-care, creating a space for the creative process and simply be free to express myself.
“I currently reside in Longview, Washington and I hold God, my children, grandchildren, family, friends and my pup Luna and my American Saddlebred, Copper, close to my heart. I always look forward to growing as an artist and creator and adding diversity to my work.”
