Beauty Not Brokenness
My “Beauty Not Brokenness” series is fueled by the pain, trauma, or mental illness many of us have experienced or are suffering. Contrary to what we believe, this does not define brokenness. “Yosoou” a Japanese term meaning to dress-up or beautify, served as the foundation for the development of a delicate technique of repairing cherished pottery with the intricate use of gold, called Kintsugi. Although not perfect, it allows one to see the beauty once again. We may feel lost, broken, or grief from losing a loved one too soon. Likewise, God's love is the gold that binds and strengthens us together, restoring peace and self-love.
This archetypal series is still in development and scheduled for release in fall/winter 2026.
